Fukushima-ku: A Cute Neighborhood in Osaka

Fukushima Ward in Osaka was only one train stop away from Osaka/Umeda Station. On a rainy day, we headed over to Fukushima-ku to get to Sobakiri Karani for lunch. When you exit the train station, take a moment to check out the Seven Lucky Gods (or Seven Deities of Good Fortune) street art by Grind Pencil on the pillars of the overpass at the intersection.

As it was raining and still early in the day, a lot of businesses were still closed. I’ve read online that Fukushima-ku is a cool place for exploring at dusk and having dinner and drinks at one of the restaurants. We didn’t get to check out the ward more due to the rain and our itinerary. If I were to ever return to Osaka, I’d like to come back in the evening and explore the area.
