Planning for the Isla Mujeres Trip

Planning for the Isla Mujeres Trip

The Plan: My husband and I wanted to go on a short trip before the year ended, and having returned from the cold mountain area of Washington not too long ago, we longed for a tropical destination. Initially, we planned to go to Cancun, but scrapped that idea and settled on Isla Mujeres after doing a lot of research. Vacationing in Isla Mujeres

Vacationing in Isla Mujeres

Reality: As it is usually the case, things didn’t pan out the way we had planned 100% of the time. Flight to Isla Mujeres

Flight to Isla Mujeres

We flew into Cancun International Airport and went through immigration and customs process there, as there is no airport on the island. We had to fill out 2 forms: one form is per individual, which is the document needed to enter Mexico,…

Weather in Isla Mujeres in December

Weather in Isla Mujeres in December

Weather in Isla Mujeres in December: Since our traveling time was limited to the first two weeks of December, we had to accept whatever weather was awaiting us. As I’ve mentioned in the planning section, I had succumbed to the ultra-anal voice in my head telling me to check the weather every chance I got prior to our departure. It’s my own fault for subjecting myself to such torture, but at least I was able to prepare myself somewhat for the…
